The biggest advantage you have in buying a new netbook is that you’ll be covered under the manufacturer warranty. If something goes wrong you can send it in for repairs usually free of charge.
On the flip side, new netbooks tend to lose their value rather quickly. One year from now that new netbook will be worth 40% less that what you paid for it.
If you’re looking for a brand new netbooks under 200 then you won’t have very many choices as there’s not too many under $200.
Refurbished netbooks under 200
Most people don’t understand what refurbished means when it comes to electronics. A refurbished netbook means that it has been repaired or restored back to the manufacturers specifications and functions just as good as a new one.
However, a refurb may have some very slight cosmetic flaws such as some light scratches but obviously this doesn’t effect it’s functionality.

Buying used is obviously the cheapest route to go. You can get a used netbook for a fraction of the cost of a new one.
The only bad thing about buying used is that you need to be careful of who you buy it from cause you might end up buying a machine that somebody is trying to hurry up and sell cause it’s ready to break down.
Used netbooks are usually sold as-is with no warranty so if something goes wrong you’re on your own. When buying used netbooks you have a plethora of netbooks to chose from.
You can get $300-400 netbooks for around $200 or less all day. Another benefit of buying used netbooks is that they won’t lose their value that fast so if you decide to sell it, you’ll be able to get all your money back or more if you decide to bump the price up a bit.
